Hi, my name is Amy Kumar
I was born and brought up in India. I did initial part of my schooling at Notre Dame Academy, Patna and later moved to Rajhans Vidyalaya in Mumbai.
Thereafter I went to Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi to do my B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, which I completed with distinction.
I also got the opportunity to do summer internships at the SPANN lab, IIT Bombay under the guidance of Prof. Shabbir N. Merchant and Dr. Parul Shah, twice during my undergrad.
After working at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, India largest automobile company, for two years, I came to US to pursue my gradute studies.
Currently, I am working as a Research Asssistant in the Wireless Communication Research group of Prof. Soura Dasgupta and Prof. Raghuraman Mudumbai, who happen to be my Ph.D. co-advisor and advisor respectively.
This summer I interned at Microsoft Research where I worked with Dr. Ranveer Chandra and the XBox team on the Wireless Communication Protocol for Xbox One. It was a great experience !
